    If your state laws require your vehicle to be registered and insured to be on the road and it is not then yes, your car can be impounded for not having insurance. An automobile should never be operated on any public road without insurance. If for some reason you are pulled over and have no insurance I recommend that you be really nice to the police officer and then go buy some insurance.
