    You can get an auto insurance policy without actually owning a vehicle.  You will need to get a non owners policy and I would recommend calling around to see what companies offer a policy like that in your state.  Usually it is with a non standard carrier such as a Progressive or Dairyland.  I would call an independent agent in your area and see what companies offer that type of a policy.

    Yes. For drivers who do not own vehicles, they can purchase what is known as a named operators policy. These policies are most common when a non-owner needs an sr22 filing to reinstate their license. Some states also have an alternative option of purchasing a broadform named drivers policy. Either policy will work for non-owners. But neither policy offers comprehensive or collision coverage on the vehicle the insured is driving. Only liability, medical, and uninsured motorist bodily injury coverages are offered on this policy.
