Bankruptcy does not typically prevent a person from securing auto insurance. There are carriers that will provide coverage for clients that have experienced a bankruptcy. Typically you will be paying more for your coverage though due to the bankruptcy. Contact a local agent to discuss your coverage needs and concerns. They can also provide you with coverage availability and pricing in your area.

The financial condition of an applicant is not considered for auto insurance in the state of California.  A bankruptcy shouldn’t affect an application for auto insurance.  In California auto insurance is based upon year, make and model of the vehicle, the driving record of the members of the household, the distance being driven and the location of the household.
