Probably not. Insurance is designed to protect you against certain causes - and normally, poor maintenance is NOT a covered loss.

Typically coverage is afforded for windstorm, hurricane, hail, malicious mischief, vandalism, riot, civil commotion, fire, theft, flood and rising waters. It would also cover you for Collision or Upset of the vehicle.

A typical auto insurance policy will not cover a blown engine in a vehicle. If you have a maintenance or repair endorsement on your policy, then you may have some coverage. Remember every policy is different. Please read your policy completely to understand the coverage provided and any exclusions that there may be or contact your local agent to have them go over the policy with you.
