    Typically your auto insurance would not cover common road hazards, such as a nail in your tire without having an endorsement on your policy for mechanical breakdown or similar coverage. If you have full coverage on your vehicle then other than collision (comprehensive) coverage may provide some coverage less the policy deductible in the event of a rock hitting your windshield or such. Remember every policy is different.
