Damage to an automobile that is not the result of a collision is known as a “comprehensive loss.”  If you have that coverage it would not pay for sun damage which is the result of long term exposure to the sun.  The principle is that the company will return the car to the condition it was in before the event after satisfying the deductible.  If you file a claim for sun damage on Tuesday, the company would be obligated to return it to the condition it was in on Monday.
