You could technically drive any car at any point in time. Just because you have auto insurance, that does not mean that you are covered when you drive any vehicle. Your liability insurance will follow you if you happen to drive another vehicle on a very occasional basis. Comprehensive and Collision coverages are tied to your vehicle only and will not provide coverage for any other vehicle that you drive. Your auto insurance rates are based on the vehicle that you own.

You'll need to talk with your Insurance Professional about the terms and conditions of your car insurance policy. Most standard auto insurance policies cover the vehicles you own and that are named on your policy, and extend coverage over to any other car you may be driving while it temporarily replaces yours. Other policies limit coverage to only the car or cars that you own and are listed on your policy.
