Car insurance is priced based on risk of a specific situation, so there is a lot of variation in price from person to person depending on his or her risk profile.

With this understanding, according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, the average cost of auto insurance in the state of Indiana is about $625 per year.

Brandon is right. That is way too broad of a question to answer specifically. But there are studies that are done every year comparing auto insurance premiums from state to state.

In the 2014 study, Indiana ranked #12 in the country for having the lowest auto insurance premium. Compared to most states, Indiana doesn't have that many coverage requirements as other states do.
