    In Montana if someone has given your permission to drive the car then you are covered unless they have you listed as an excluded driver.  Each state has different laws and rules also each carrier has the same guidelines. If you are a regular driver and have access to the car you should be listed as a driver. but if you are just in town and visiting they the persons car that you are borrowing should cover you .
