Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to get an individual Disability Insurance policy while having MS. While there is at least one graded Disability income insurance policy available to those with multiple sclerosis, the criteria for getting it is so stringent that is extremely difficult to satisfy the requirements for qualification.

Getting Disability Insurance with MS is extremely difficult. Graded policies claim to cover those with Multiple Sclerosis, but the requirements are so restrictive that almost no one can get it. If you have very mild MS and no exacerbations in years, it is worth a try!

Living Benefit Life Insurance policies are one method of getting benefits that you have the option to use during your life, and this type of policy is not as difficult to qualify for as Disability Insurance, when you have MS. If unable to do two more more ADL's, it can be accessed for cash to pay bills and use as you wish.

However, the Disability Income portion of Living Benefit policies is usually a rider for which you need to qualify, making that feature harder to get. Again, I'd consider it a delightful challenge to help you get whatever is out there for you to get.
