The VA does not offer Disability Insurance, per se, but does offer a Total Disability Income Provision (TDIP) rider on their group Life insurance plans. There is a 6 month elimination period and the Disability Income benefit lasts for as long as the disability exists. Applicants for the rider must apply before their 55th birthday, and must be able to medically qualify for it.

The VA does not offer Disability Insurance. However, the Veterans Administration does pay monetary benefits to veterans who have disabilities that were caused or aggravated during active military service. The disability is rated on a scale of 1 to 10 and the compensation is adjusted according to the degree of disability.
