    The State Disability Insurance (SDI) withholding rate is 1% of annual income, up to an annual income of $100,800. Therefore the most that can be paid for SDI in 2013 is $1,008.80 for someone who is making over that amount. There is also a lid on benefits. The cost of SDI is considered a tax and, as such, is tax deductible.
