   In South Carolina and most other states, Group Health Insurance is "guaranteed issue" and applicants cannot be denied coverage. However, if an applicant has not had creditable coverage in the preceding 63 days, an insurer may deny coverage for pre-existing conditions for up to 6 months. Of course, in order to qualify, you must be an employee of a legal company in the state in which you seek insurance. The number of employees required to form a group may vary by state. In South Carolina, 2 employees are required to form a group.
