Most employers set their own guidelines for who would qualify for coverage. Some factors are, how many hours worked,etc. Some employees have to wait a certain amount of time before qualifying. Keep in mind, you can apply for your own individual health plan that you manage and in the event that you change jobs, you won't have to worry about loosing your health plan.
