There may be some plans that offer discounts on weight loss programs or gym memberships but generally your health will not cover a weight loss program you purchase over the counter.  Every health insurance plan is different however and may offer at least some type of coverage depending on the weight loss program, is it medically necessary and prescribed by the doctor.  Check with your agent to see what your policy covers.

Depending on what you consider a "program"... Maybe. It will cover your doctors visit where the Dr. can run a risk assesment and go over a program to help address one's individual body issues. If you were wondering if health insurance would cover a gym membership and a physical trainer then no, although both employers and insurance companies are increasingly offering those services at discounted prices for their employees/policy holders (increasing the focus and development of preventive, proacitve ways to eliminate serious health issues before they develop or worsen).
