I’m looking to buy private health insurance that covers IVF in NJ.  It can be on or off the marketplace, but after an extensive search can’t find any.  Do you have any suggestions? I’ve found some that say they cover infertility with authorization, however when I called it does not cover IVF.

Most health insurance policies will not cover infertility treatments of any form unless required to by law. New Jersey is one of only fifteen states that mandate coverage for infertility.

However the mandate applies to group plans and not individual coverage. Groups with 50 or more employees must comply, although there are many exceptions. Your best bet is to purchase a policy through your employer, or your spouse's employer. The employer headquartered in NJ is most likely to offer want you want.
