    It really depends on how good your health is (do you go to the doctor a lot? have lots of prescriptions? upcoming surgery?) and what your income is. If you fall into the income level whereby you get subsidy, you most likely want to go with a silver plan. A lot of self-employed individuals like to go with an HSA plan because this enables them to open up Health Savings Account with pre-tax dollars and use the account to pay for their health expenses. Some people are more comfortable with a "straight co-pay" plan so they know how much they will pay each time they access the system. It's very individual.
