The Health Insurance Claim Number (HICN) is your ID number for Medicare claims.  If you have your red, white and blue medicare card, it is the number (and letters) with your name.  It is a combination of a number representing the primary person responsible for the Medicare insurance (often the social security number) followed by one or two letters or numbers to represent the relationship to the primary person.
