The word "affordable" is really a perception.  Up until the massive rate increases occurred due to Obamacare I felt that most health policies were affordable.  We have to remember that each of us only have so much money to spend and we have to prioritize our bills and all insurances are necessary for protection but only auto and home insurance are mandatory but we find a way to pay for it.  The good news is that health insurance coverage is flexible with deductibles and co-insurance but I always recommend the HSA qualified plan has a slightly higher deductible with no coinsurance and with this you can save 30% or more in premium and have the option to open a health savings account with any bank and the money deposited into that account is tax deductible and tax free when used to pay any medical expenses.  The bottom line is that you need to take responsibility for the everyday medical problems such as doctor visits and pharmacy and be covered for the catastrophic things that may occur.  Feel free to call me anytime to answer any of your questions or for quotes.  The Hinch Financial Group, Ronald G Hinch 843-450-9879.
