Will health insurance pay for old bills?  It's going to depend on how old? Normally a insurance company allows anywhere from 6-12 months for a bill to be submitted and they will pay. Beyond that, they are no longer obligated to make a payment. If your medical provider has a problem with outgoing billing that they can't bill within a reasonable amount of time after your visit, it may be time to switch providers.
