Quoting the premium for a home is very specific to the home being insured. For a ballpark you could expect to pay around $2000 per year for an $800,000 home in Cupertino, CA. Of course there are a large number of variables that would change that premium, such as the age of construction, the location of firefighting capabilities, losses in the past three years, presence of trampolines or diving boards. This number is certainly not something that you can just take to the company and insist on coverage at that price.

Cupertino is an expensive part of the state of California and homes are much more costly to rebuilt there than in many other parts of the state and even just the Bay Area.

Assuming that there is nothing overly complicated from an insurers standpoint, such as old plumbing, past claims, shake roof, non earthquake retrofitted home, high wildfire score (and there are many more possible issues); likely you should be able to procure an A rated carrier for less than about $1,800 per year. Potentially less. However it also depends on the level of coverages such as liability, etc that you want.

One last note: When getting Home Insurance in the San Francisco Bay Area, I always caution clients to be very very careful accepting coverage A rebuilt amounts from Insurance people. Many of them have no idea how much it costs to built houses around here. Ask Construction people what complete builds are costing in your area.
That $800K rebuild amount may sound like a lot now, but when when a whole neighborhood burns down - you may find yourself vastly under insured.
