It may provide some limited coverage for a laptop and may be subject to the policy deductible. Many homeowners policies have a stated cap on personal electronic items. Remember every policy is different. Please read your policy completely to understand the coverage provided and any exclusions that there may be or contact your local agent to have them go over the policy with you.

This question is very vague.  Much would depend on the cause of the loss.  If it is a covered cause of loss under the policy coverage, there would, likely, be limited coverage and it would be subject to the policy deductible unless the laptop is scheduled on an inland marine policy or has an inland marine endorsement added to the Homeowners policy.  I hope your agent offers annual reviews of your policy.  You should add this topic to the agenda.
