    If the cause of the breakage was wear and tear then homeowners insurance does not cover replacement of the pipes. However, homeowners insurance will cover damage to the dwelling if the breakage caused water to leak into the home thereby damaging the dwelling. If the breakage was caused by freezing you may have coverage.
