Usually when asked about plumbing and homeowners insurance the question is in reference to leaking or breaking. In this case no, the homeowners insurance does not cover plumbing. However, the damage the sudden burst or rupture of a pipe sending water all over the house would be covered if the dwelling suffered water damage. But only the dwelling, not the pipe.  If a pipe has been slow leaking over a long period of time damaging the dwelling then most likely the damage may not be covered since the incident is not sudden and accidental.
