    Unfortunately, in most cases, no, a standard homeowners' policy will not cover damage caused by sink holes.  This is because damage caused by "earth movement" is a standard exclusion usually found in the Homeowners contract.  However, that having been said, you can and should speak with your insurance professional to see if coverage can be endorsed into the contract.  In many cases, it can.
