    Homeowners insurance is usually required by the mortage company and therefore from that perspective home owners is required. Even if you do not have a mortage and someone is injured on your property are you sure you intend to make your personal assets subject to a legal cliam? What if someone breaks into your home and steals all your prized possesions? What is a "thunder storm" causes lightning to strike your home and the electrical circuitry rendered useless?
