    A homeowner’s policy pays for damages caused by “specified perils.”  The list of perils is lengthy; however, damage caused by birds and insects isn’t covered under the standard forms.  I am assuming that woodpeckers pose a threat to your house.  You might check with your agent on how you can deal with this problem.
