Polices can vary but assuming you have a special policy which is a policy that has the broadest coverage's you are not covered for flood and your not covered for earthquake. Additional polices would need to be purchased to cover those perils. Other then that the best way to look at a policy in general is to ask yourself. Was the loss sudden and accidental. I recommend you discuss with your agent about the specifics of your policy.

It is always best to talk with your Insurance Professional about the specific terms, conditions and possible limitations of your policy. However, there are usually two specific perils that are excluded from coverage under a Homeowners policy. One exclusion is damage caused by earth movement. These can include things like earth quake, sink hole and the like. This exclusion may be removed by the addition of an endorsement. The other common exclusion is damage causewd by a flood. This exclusion may not be covered by endorsement to your policy but only by the purchase of a sep[arate Flood Insurance policy.
