If you are in the third trimester of pregnancy, most medically underwritten carriers will ask you to postpone applying for life insurance until after the birth of your baby. Some No Exam policies will accept an application into the third trimester as long as weight and other guidelines are met. In the first two trimesters of pregnancy, it varies between carriers, but you should be able to find a company that will cover you with little affect on your premium.

Does Pregnancy affect life insurance?  Yes and no. If you are in the first two tirmesters, with a normal pregnancy going so far, no real underwriting problems. If you are in your third trimester, most carriers will hold the application till the baby is born. If you are experiencing any complications of pregnancy, you may be rated down or declined until after childbirth.
