A whole life insurance policy is going to guarantee a level death benefit at a level premium.  The premium itself depends upon your age when the policy starts and any special considerations the company must make.  If your health is better than most, you will be offered preferred rates.  If you have a condition or history that makes your longevity more doubtful you will be offered a rated policy.
