To search for life insurance on a deceased person, start by looking through their financial records to see if you can find their policy, or any record that they bought a policy. If not, talk to relatives or friends who they may have told about purchasing a policy. Contact a local life insurance agency to see if a policy was bought there. If the deceased did business with one company, call that company to see if they have a record of the deceased person ever having bought a life insurance policy with them. If all else fails, you may have to wait a couple of years and see if it shows up as unclaimed property.
