If you’re policy is beyond the reinstatement period, the policy will not pay in a death claim scenario. It will not pay if suicide occurs during the first two years of the policy. It will not pay if deliberate misstatements or omissions were material enough to have changed the underwriting offer or amount of the death benefit.

As long as you did not lie to answer a question that was asked on the life insurance policy, your policy will pay the death benefit. After two years, the policy will usually pay even if there were misrepresentations on the application. The policy will not pay for suicide during the first two years of the policy.
