You are afforded health insurance on Medicare as of your 65 birthday if you are a US citizen who has paid into SSI for 10+ years. You can also qualify if you have a disability and have been on social security for 24+months.
Medicare part A covers your inpatient care while part B is your outpatient services. There is also prescription service called part D.
