   CPAP machines are used to treat some forms of sleep apnea. Before Medicare will authorize a CPAP your doctor must submit a CMN (certificate of medical need).
   
   You must have had a sleep study conducted by a Medicare approved facility and you must have had training on the use and care of the CPAP.
