    Medicare Part A covers blood transfusions administered as an inpatient in a hospital or including skilled nursing facility (SKF). 

    Blood transfusions are covered under Part B if the transfusion is administered on an outpatient basis. 

    You have a "blood deductible" under Medicare. Medicare does not cover your first 3 pints in a calendar year.
