Medicare will cover disease of the eye such as cataracts or glaucoma.  It does not cover general eye exams or eye wear.  It will pay for prescription glasses after cataract surgery or some other types of surgery that is deemed medically necessary.  Your Ophthalmologist will generally know if a procedure will be covered or not.
