    In some situations, the answer is yes.

    Medicare will pay your doctor to discuss issues related to diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol and obesity. Often the counseling will include information on nutrition and diet.

    If you are obese, your BMI (body mass index) is 30 or higher, you may qualify for additional weight loss counseling.
