Generally, wrist splints and other types of wrist supports can be covered under Medicare if they're prescribed by a physician.  Some example situations an individual may encounter where a splint might be deemed "medically necessary" by a physician are wrist arthritis, wrist sprains/strains, and carpel tunnel syndrome. If the support product is not prescribed by a doctor and is simply purchased over the counter, Medicare may not cover it.
