Yes, Medicare Part A has a deductible of $1,184 in 2013. This applies to stays in a hospital or skilled nursing home, and the deductible is charged per 60 days, NOT per year. Therefore, if there was a qualified hospital stay during, e.g., the spring of the year, and then again during the autumn of that same year, the patient would pay two deductibles.

For 2016 the Medicare Part A deductible is $1,288. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient hospital stay, skilled nursing facility (rehab), hospice and some home health care. Most Medicare Supplements will pay the Part A deductible for you and the co-pay if you need to stay in a skilled nursing facility more than 20 days. The copay for days 21-100 in 2016 is $161 per day.
