Medicare does cover hospice care for terminally ill patients.

Care must be given by a doctor, nurse or skilled attendant.

Once you are in hospice, Medicare will not cover any treatment intended to cure your illness. This includes prescription drugs for your illness. Medicare will not cover room and board in a hospital or nursing home if you are under hospice care.
