Does Medicare Part D Cover OTC Drugs?

   Unfortunately, over the counter (OTC) medications are not covered by Medicare.  You must have a prescription from your doctor that you need a specific medication, it must be medically necessary and it must be included on the Medicare or your plans "formulary" for it to be covered.  A Part D or Medicare Advantage plan is an excellent way to save money on prescription medications.
