    Medicare will pay for yearly mammograms for women who are age 40 and older, who are on Medicare. 11 months must pass between one mammogram to another for the mammogram to be covered.

    It will also pay for mammograms done for diagnostic purposes under Part B as needed to determine whether there is disease, or to monitor breast disease or treatment.
