    If you are age 65 and have begun receiving Social Security benefits, you will automatically be signed up for Medicare Part A and B. You can sign up for an Advantage Plan or get Medicare Part D (or other letters) at that time, as well. You sign up for Medicare by visiting your local Social Security office, going to Medicare.gov (where you will be directed to a website where you can sign up), or calling 1-800-MEDICARE.
