    If the patient qualifies for hospice care, Medicare pays for nearly all of it 100%. This includes nursing care, therapy, social services, home health aid, homemaker services, medical supplies, physicians' services, short term inpatient care for pain relief or for symptoms (not to cure the condition), and counseling for patient or family. There is s small fee for an inpatient hospital stay for the purpose of giving the caregiver a respite.
