    You must be age 65 to qualify for Medicare, with a few exceptions. Without elaboration, the main exceptions are: 1) being on Social Security Disability for two years (so if you go on SSDI at age 62 or earlier, you will be able to go on Medicare before age 65), 2) having end stage renal disease, or 3) having Lou Gehrig's disease.
