    Medicare supplement plan N covers the same things as Medigap plans F and G, but with a different level of benefits.

    Medicare supplement plan N acts to fill the "gaps" in Medicare Part A and Part B.

    Plan N pays your Part A deductible and coinsurance.

    Plan N pays a portion of your Part B expenses above the deductible but requires you to pay a copay for outpatient services and ER visits.

    Medicare Supplement Plan N is a standardized Medigap Plan.  Every insurance company who sells Plan N offers the same exact benefits.  The only difference is the price.

    Plan N covers the following:

    100% of the Medicare Part A Coinsurance and hospital costs up to an additional 365 days after Medicare benefits are used up.

    100% of Medicare Part B coinsurance, except for a copayment of up to $20 for some office visits and up to $50 copay for emergency room visits (waived if admitted).

    100%  First 3 pints of Blood

    100% Part A Hospice Care Coinsurance or Copayment

    100% Skilled Nursing Facility Care Coinsurance

    100% of Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) Deductible

    80% to a lifetime max benefit of $50,000 for Foreign Travel emergency.  

    Plan N does not cover :
    The annual Part B deductible ($147 in 2014)
    Part B Excess Charges (Above the Medicare Approved Amount)
