Medigap plan F is the all inclusive Medicare supplement plan that is popular with many Medicare beneficiaries.

Plan F pays 100% of Medicare approved Part A and Part B charges that are not paid by Medicare due to deductibles and coinsurance.

There are more cost efficient options for most people. Over 90% of my Medigap clients pick something other than plan F

Medigap plan F is the most popular Medigap plan you can buy because it's offers the most comprehensive coverage. It covers all 9 Medigap benefits at 100% from day 1. The 9 benefits are:

    1) Medicare Part A coinsurance plus coverage for 365 additional days after Medicare benefits are used up
    2) Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayment
    3) First 3 pints of blood
    4) Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment
    5) Part A hospitalization deductible
    6) Part B medical deductible
    7) Part B excess charges
    8) Skilled nursing facility co-insurance
    9) Foreign travel emergency (up to plan limits)

Plan F also offers a high-deductible version of the plan (known as Hi-F or High-F) – it is the only plan that offers this feature. Under a High-F plan, the insured must pay for Medicare-covered costs up to the year’s deductible amount – $2,140 in 2014 – before the plan pays anything. The benefit of the High-F plan is that it offers the insured a much lower monthly premium than a regular plan F.

I hope the information is helpful - please feel free to contact me for assistance with your Medigap coverage needs, including quotes and plan comparisons, and if you have any other questions. Thanks very much.
