    Medicare Part D plans must cover at least as many drugs as Medicare Part B covers. However, from there, each provider has its own criteria. They spell out their allowable coverage guidelines in "formularies". To know what is covered in any Medicare Part D plan, the patient can look in the formulary for his plan.
