As of 2011, Medicare started covering an initial "Welcome to Medicare" exam and annual "Wellness" exams. Neither of these require the patient to undress and do not include a full physical exam from head to toe. Sometimes an EKG or scan for abdominal aortic aneurysm done at these exams will be covered by Medicare.

A "Preventative" exam is most like what is normally considered to be a physical. Medicare does not pay for preventative exams.
