    A Medicare Skilled Nursing Facility is a place where Medicare will pay for people to receive care and rehab for a limited period of time. Skilled Nursing Facilities are usually nursing homes. Once the Medicare benefit runs out, the resident is responsible to make the payments, either from their estate or by going on Medicaid.
